More than 200 new North American Jewish immigrants landed at Ben Gurion Airport Wednesday afternoon, among them Chicago-born Tuvia Grossman, 25, the Jewish Student whose bloodied face appeared on the front page of the New York Times at the start of the intifada, wrongly identified as a Palestinian being beaten by Israeli police. Grossman said his moving to Israel is a way of showing how a small country can stand up against terror. In September 2000 Grossman was riding in a cab with two friends to pray at the Western Wall when he was brutally attacked by a Palestinian mob, dragged from the vehicle, beaten and stabbed before managing to flee a short distance to an Israeli police post where the photograph was taken. The picture received widespread international circulation despite its erroneous caption and prompted the establishment of a number of dedicated media monitoring groups, most notably HonestReporting.com

Wasn't actually aware of this case, but there is a lot of anti-Israeli bias in the press.
